Set up a Hotmail account to check your Software Solutions e-mail
You can configure your Hotmail account to check your Software Solutions e-mail when you're away from home. If you don't have a hotmail account, click here to set one up.
After you have set up an account, you may come back to this page and learn how to configure it to check your Software Solutions e-mail.
Note: Although this page is helpful by providing graphics, we recommend that you only use it for reference. If you want to print the page you can save ink by printing the instructions with text only.
- Go to hotmail.com or click here
to go there.
- Enter your Sign-In Name and Password to log into your
account.
- Click on the Options menu.
- Click on POP Mail.
- Enter the following information under the 1st POP Account:
- Enter mail.softsolutions.com next to POP Server Name:
- Enter your username next to POP User Name: (Your username is usually
the first part of your e-mail address, for example joe@softsolutions.com, joe
would be the username).
- Enter your User Password next to POP User Password:
- Server Timeout and Port Number are already assigned,
so you don't have to change those settings.
- We recommend that you put a checkmark next to Leave message on POP server.
Doing so will allow you to check your messages when you're away, but when you get
home you will still be able to retrieve all those messages because they'll be left on the
server.
- You can specify what type of New Mail Indicator you want when you have
new mail by selecting one on the right.
- Click OK.
- Click on your Inbox folder on the top left corner of the menu bar.
- Now you can check your Software Solutions e-mail by clicking on the POP Mail
link.
Note: Although we only show you how to configure Hotmail, you can configure other web based e-mail providers like yahoo to do the same thing. The steps will be similar to those above.
