Deleting multiple E-mail messages
Are your folders in your E-mail program full of messages you dont need, but you dont know how to delete more than one message at a time? Here are a few tips and shortcuts on deleting several E-mail messages from your folders at the same time. The following shortcuts will work regardless of what program you are using. While in a folder you can delete several messages that are in consecutive order by clicking on the first message you want to delete, hold the shift key down and move the up or down arrow keys to highlight all the messages you want to delete. Once highlighted, simply press the delete key on your keyboard, click the delete button on your e-mail program, or drag the highlighted messages to your Trash or Deleted Items folder to get rid of them. If you want to delete more than one message from a folder but theyre not in a consecutive order, you can select more than one message by holding down the Ctrl key while you click on every message that you want to delete. Once youve got everything you want to delete highlighted, push the delete key to get rid of them. You can delete multiple messages by pressing the Home and End keys while holding down the Shift key. Pressing the End key will highlight everything below that particular message; pressing Home will highlight everything above that particular message. You may also select a page at a time by pressing the Page Up or Page Down button while holding down the Shift key. Once youve highlighted the messages you want to get rid of, push the Delete button on the keyboard to send the messages to the Trash or Deleted Items folder.
